Job Description:

Job Title: Technical staff member – physicist, R&D employee, specialist in the area of spin pumping study in topological materials

Job Summary: The employee will be carrying out experimental studies of topological and electronic properties of SnTe and PbSnSe heterostructures by using spin pumping approach using Quantum Design Dynacool based ferromagnetic resonance spectroscopy. The employee should be capable of using techniques such as Quantum Design Dynacool, Vector network analyzer based ferromagnetic resonance spectroscopy, magnetron sputtering system and scanning electron microscopy.

Work will be performer in one of MagTop’s experimental teams ON-6/MagTop

The International Centre for Interfacing Magnetism and Superconductivity with Topological Matter – MagTop is the Division (ON-6) of the Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences and is funded by a grant awarded to Professors Tomasz Dietl and Tomasz Wojtowicz within the International Research Agendas programme of the Foundation for Polish Science, carried out from the funds of the European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Programme (SG OP), Priority Axis 4: Increasing the research potential, Measure 4.3: International Research Agendas . MagTop activities involve strong local and international collaborations, the strategic partner unit being Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Germany, particularly the Institute EP3 headed by Professor Laurens W. Molenkamp.

Profile of candidate for the position:

Master degree in physics or related disciplines
At least 3 years of research experience in ferromagnetic resonance of topological materials.
Knowledge of computational techniques and softwares such as Matlab and Originpro.
Ability to work in a team as well as independently
Fluent spoken and written English

Career Stage: Young researcher

Type of Contract: Temporary, 3 months, with possibility of prolongation

Status: Full-time

Salary: 5000 PLN gross per month (1050 € per month gross)
